Hey there,
It’s hard to say which bird was my actual spark bird. Ive always had an interest in watching these fascinating creatures though, so much so that I even rear-ended someone because I was distracted by a bird swooping up and down in a field I was driving by.

What I think really started my “serious” journey in this birding world was one of my last trips to Florida. We spent a lot of time at little bars near/on the coast and birds were always hanging around waiting for scraps of food or remnants of fish from the locals cleaning their catches of the day.
When I got home I started paying more attention to the birds around my house and started putting food out on the ledge of my deck until I finally got my first bird feeder.
It became a huge highlight of the week just waiting for Saturday mornings when my husband and I could sit sipping our coffee and pointing out the different birds coming in while trying to track what food they seem to like best.
I caught a video of a little bird taking fibers from our outdoor carpet here.

Now I have many feeders and even join a friend out at local parks to scope out new birds.
